The Evolution of the Portland Rose Festival

The soon-to-retire CEO of the Portland Rose Festival, Marilyn Clint, will tell us how the Rose Festival has had to constantly evolve during her nearly 50-year career there. With a mixture of humor and pathos, she'll reveal how a 117-year-old festival inspires innovation and retains relevance while unapologetically embracing its long legacy of celebration.

Why the Selection of a Good Ticketing Platform Is Important

There are hundreds of ticketing platforms out there – it’s extremely important to select one that will offer you good customer service. Hear how Amy Maxwell of Ticket Tomato was able to help the Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festivals navigate through difficult circumstances, as well as other clients. Because of raging fires in the Winthrop area, it started raining ash on the famed Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival. Organizers thought it couldn’t get any worse, and then it did. Highway 20 – the main highway into Winthrop – was closed due to the fire, preventing attendees from getting there. And then the Crowdstrike tech disaster shut down airlines, preventing four of their bands who were due to perform from getting there. Hear how they handled the worst of problems.
