Speaker Bios

April Anderson, Business Intelligence Site Lead – Umpqua Bank

Born and raised in Los Angeles California, April moved to Washington State in her senior year of high school. In October 1991 she began her career in Special Assets with Sterling Bank (now Umpqua Bank) and is currently in her dream job as a Business Intelligence Analyst Site Lead in the Technology Advancement Group. 

April serves on the Diversity Council and as Co-Chair of Umpqua Bank’s Women’s Resource Group. She recently helped SNAP put on a one-day event for the Women’s Business Center with a focus on women entrepreneurs. 

She has held numerous boards of director positions, including a 52-unit section 8 apartment complex and MLK Jr Family Outreach Center. April has also held numerous leadership roles within her church, Bethel AME. Currently she is Co-Executive director of NW Unity a non-profit that puts on an annual event, Unity in the Community, the region’s largest multi-cultural celebration of diversity. 

In 2019 April received Umpqua’s Community Leadership Award for community involvement and the Spokane Chapter of Links Incorporated honored her with their Community Service Award. During Diversity Month April was the Associate Spotlight showcasing her dedication and involvement. 

She loves her role at the bank, but especially appreciates the opportunities given with her work in the community specifically, underrepresented communities. 

Bill Burke, Pig Out in the Park

Highly qualified Marketing and Promotions Consultant/Project Manager offering more than 40 years of community non-profit organizational management, event production, fundraising, retail promotion, downtown/community revitalization, and tourism promotion experience. Additional event production experience includes; news conferences, business meetings, sporting events, conventions, annual meetings, holiday celebrations, fireworks exhibitions, trade shows, children’s programs, arts and crafts markets, fairs, commemorations, grand openings, special announcements, master of ceremonies, cultural presentations and literary readings. We have produced Pig Out in the Park, in Spokane, for 40 years.

Bruce Skinner, Executive Director, Washington Festivals & Events Association

Bruce Skinner was one of a handful of people who started selling festival and event sponsorship in the mid-80’s, and is a highly regarded consultant to business and the special events industry with vast experience. He currently is the Executive Director of the Washington Festivals and Events Association, after serving as the Chief Revenue Officer for the College Football National Championship Game held in Phoenix in January of 2016.

He is the author of the book, The Complete Guide to Selling Event Sponsorship, published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., of New York, and is the founder or co-founder of five Rock n Roll marathons in Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, San Antonio and Nice, France.

He served as the executive director of the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona, (1980-1990) and President of the International Festivals and Events Association (1990-2001). He also has served as the Executive Director of the Olympic Medical Center Foundation in Port Angeles – Sequim.


Morgan Marum, Director of Marketing and Business Development Hoopfest

A graduate of Gonzaga University, Morgan Marum spent the past few years as a reporter, content coordinator and account executive for KHQ Local News before making her way to the Hoopfest Team. As the Director of Marketing and Business Development Morgan is the megaphone for the organization. She also manages relationships with all of the sponsors in order to execute the largest 3on3 in the world. The Hoopfest team is comprised of 6 individuals who all have key roles in bringing 250,000 to the streets of Spokane for the past 30 years.

McKensey Richmond, VIP Production NW

McKensey grew up in the events and audiovisual production industry. She has a passion for cultivating relationships, which is why she is here to represent VIP Production NW, a full-service audiovisual company. VIP is built upon a culmination of 30 years of industry experience; specializing in sound, lighting, and staging for events of all sizes. McKensey works to connect organizations with the quality, reliable work of the VIP team to make clients' events a success!

Jermaine Yeldon, American On-Site Services

Jermaine Christopher Yeldon was born in Centralia, WA 1981. Jermaine spent 4 years in JROTC Airforce during his time at Washington High. He did early enlistment into the Army reserves where he was trained at Fort Benning, GA. Where he received the Army Service ribbon, Marksmanship award and Grenade badge Jermaine graduated from Washington High 2000 with a 3.75 GPA. Jermaine started his professional career in the portable sanitation business in March of 2001 with North West Cascade dba Honey Bucket out of Puyallup, WA. there he worked as a helper, driver, and supervisor. In 2006 Jermaine and his family were relocated to Spokane and North Idaho to help change the culture and bring some leadership. Jermaine started as an Assistant Manager and became the Manager in 2007. In 2014 Jermaine began working for American On-Site Services of Spokane Valley, WA. There he is the Event Manager. Jermaine and his team currently work with all major events that require portable sanitation services in the Inland Empire Area.
